Josh created EDEL Engineering Development Corp. in 1993 to be a strategic partner to our nation’s military branches for the design, development, and production of proprietary control and guidance systems for a vast array of ground-, sea- and air-based vehicles. Josh saw that there was a growing need to support the military’s aging aircraft platform, where production capabilities and system parts acquisition were greatly diminished as systems manufacture contracts ended. For those systems that were still in regular use in the field, the ability to maintain them became more difficult.
“Ensuring our nation’s defense capabilioties is one of the cornerstones of ensuring our nation’s freedom.”

EDEL was created to design, develop, and manufacture sensors, avionics, and electrical hardware for these military aircraft’s, submarines, missiles, tanks, and helicopters. Its product line ranges from aircraft fuel management systems and fuel quantity transmitters to a variety of temperature sensors, power supplies, circuit card assemblies, test adapters, and electronic cockpit display systems. Josh’s team at EDEL developed great expertise at reverse engineering, product design improvement, and technology impact studies in order to allow their various defense service partners keep their older vehicle systems platform function at peak ability.
As a result EDELL has become a trusted partner to the Air Force, Army, Marines, Navy, and Coast Guard. is dedicated to maintaining the highest quality assurance provisions and strict adherence to military specifications on every component it provides while providing forward-thinking technological innovation that improves reliability, capability and cost-effectiveness.
In 2000, Josh acquired Engineered Magnetics Corp. (EMI) to complement EDEL’s service provisioning. Formed in 1965, EMI was a supplier of leading edge componentry for our nation’s military defense platform and aerospace industry. Its core strength was in power conversion equipment, battery chargers, and monitoring and signal conditioning systems for a variety of military systems. Josh took the company and expanded its abilities to include more advanced electronic support for inverters, converters, DC power supplies, transformer-rectifiers, and voltage regulators. The EMI line is noted for its quality and dependability by providing components with single or multiple outputs, closely held tolerances, high efficiency, low ripple, short circuit protection, and many other features. EMI equipment is easily adapted to existing circuit designs for previously proven ground and air military operating capabilities in order to meet a wide variety of applications.
EMI is a supplier for a variety of military defense systems including the AMRAAM Missile Launcher, the AV-8B Harrier, the F-14 Fighter Jet, the NAVSTAR Global Positioning System, the PHALANX Missile System, and the B2 Bomber.
Both companies are still in operation and continue to play a significant part in assuring our nation’s defense capabilities and the pioneering lead of our aerospace industry.
